Ten leaders and activists of the Awami League and its banned student wing the Bangladesh Chhatra League have been sent to jail on charges of holding anti-government processions, raising slogans and triggering explosions at Dhaka’s Banani, Dhanmondi, and Shahjahanpur. Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrates’ Court issued the order on Tuesday in three police stations’ cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Police arrested them on a drive from different areas of Dhaka on Monday.
