Gold prices in Bangladesh surged to an all-time high on Tuesday, as the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised rates in response to rising costs of refined gold in the local market. The new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 1,94,859 per bhori (11.664 grams), after an increase of Tk 3,663 within just 24 hours. The revised rates will take effect from Wednesday, September 24.
