Home Adviser mourns death of firefighter Shamim | News

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of firefighter Shamim Ahmed, who suffered burn injuries in a fire at a chemical warehouse in Tongi of Gazipur district. In a message of condolence, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members, said a Home Ministry press release. Shamim succumbed to his burn injuries around 3:00 pm at the NIBPS, confirmed Talha bin Zasim, media officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
