A firefighter has died from severe burns suffered while tackling a fire at a chemical warehouse in Gazipur's Tongi. Shamim Ahmed, 40, succumbed to his injuries at 3pm on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka. The Fire Service said his body was completely burnt. Shamim, a father of three, was from Netrokona. His funeral prayers are scheduled to be held after Maghrib prayers at the Fire Service headquarters.
