Govt approves procuring 40,000 body cameras for police before polls | News

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs (ACCEA) has approved the procurement proposal of around 40,000 body-worn cameras for police to enhance security at voting booths during the upcoming general election. The approval was given at the 31st meeting of the ACCEA held at Cabinet Division in the city with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Salehuddin stated that the procurement process for the body cameras will be handled through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
