New York Police have detained Juba League leader Mizanur Rahman for hurling eggs at Akhter Hossen, member secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), at John F. Kennedy International Airport. He was detained on Monday night (New York local time) in front of Nabanna Restaurant in Jackson Heights. Police identified, surrounded, questioned, and handcuffed him before taking him into custody. Earlier, Awami League leaders and activists had hurled eggs at Akhter when he arrived at the airport Monday afternoon as part of the delegation led by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who was attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
