At least 15 people have been injured in a clash between residents of two neighbourhoods in Pabna’s Bera Upazila. The clash occurred on Monday after an announcement was made on a mosque microphone over control of a river terminal. A local BNP office was vandalised and set on fire, while several businesses were looted and multiple houses were attacked. Police and Army personnel rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control afterwards. Bera Model Police Station chief Habibul Islam said the incident took place between the residents of Brisalikha and Saudagar Para areas of the Upazila.
