JICA delegation calls on DU VC | News

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - An eight member delegation led by Ichiro Adachi, senior global environment expert of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), today met Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan at the latter's office on the campus. During the meeting, they discussed implementation of a research project titled 'Implementing Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technologies to Mitigate Health Risks for Antimicrobial Resistances in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area', funded by JICA and JST. Notably, the Dhaka University will oversee the implementation of the project whereas Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain of university's Fisheries Department will serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project.
