HC rule on writ seeking creation of new constituency with Bhanga upazila | Law and Court

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025(BSS) – A High Court (HC) bench today issued a rule asking the authorities concerned why a new parliament constituency ‘Faridpur-5’ would not be created separating Bhanga upazila from present Faridpur-4 constituency comprising Bhanga, Char Bhadrasan and Sadarpur upazilas of the district. The bench comprising Justice Md Mujibur Rahman Miah and Justice Biswajit Debnath passed the order after hearing the writ. The bench asked the Election Commission to submit its reply to the court within the next 10 working days. Barrister Mohammad Humayun Kabir Pallab moved for the petitioners before the court.
