Pro-Jamaat-e-Islami teachers announce participation in RUCSU elections

Amid the “complete shutdown” at Rajshahi University over demands to reinstate the “dependent quota”, teachers supporting the Jamaat-e-Islami have announced their participation in the central students’ union (RUCSU) elections. The announcement was made by the Bangladesh Public University Teachers' Council, an organisation of pro-Jamaat teachers, during a press briefing outside the university’s Deans Complex Building at 5:30pm on Monday. At the time, JAM Shoquilur Rahman, president of the organisation’s university branch, read out a brief written statement.
