Relentless rain drenches Dhaka, low forms over Bay of Bengal

Dhaka has experienced at least 71mm of rainfall from 6am to 9am on Monday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department. The downpour started around 5:45am on Monday and was accompanied by thunder and lightning as well. The rain continued without a break until 7am. Afterwards, the capital saw showers with brief pauses until 8am. There had also been intermittent rain throughout the night.
