Nahid Islam, the convenor of the National Citizen Party, has testified that there was no foreign or domestic influence behind the proposal for Muhammad Yunus to head the interim government. He made the statement while giving testimony at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Sunday, during the cross-examination of a July Uprising case. Nahid’s testimony was examined by Md Amir Hossain, a state-appointed lawyer, led by Justice Mohammad Golam Mortuza Mozumder. The questioning occurred after Nahid testified earlier in the week about the July Uprising, which led to the fall of the Awami League government.
