Chittagong University appoints Prof Shaid Shohrowardhy as new proctor

Chittagong University has appointed marketing teacher Professor Hossain Shaid Shohrowardhy as its new proctor. The university’s registrar office issued the official notification appointing him as proctor for the next year on Sunday. On Sept 22 of last year, the CU administration had appointed Prof Tanvir Mohammad Hayder Arif of the Banking and Insurance Department as proctor for one year. As such, Sunday was the last day of his tenure. On Sept 10, nine university students went on a hunger strike demanding the resignation of Tanvir.
