Nahid Islam, a National Citizen Party (NCP) leader who was at the forefront of the July Uprising, has called on the International Crimes Tribunal to try the Awami League as a party for crimes against humanity committed during attempts to suppress last year's student-led anti-government movement. He made the remarks after completing his testimony and cross-examination on Sunday in a case filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former police chief Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun over alleged crimes against humanity.
