MAGURA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - Aiming to reintroduce the century-old traditionof rural Bengal to the younger generation, a colorful festival of stick-fighting (Lathi khela) was held on the Talkhari Secondary School ground inShalikha upazila of the district on Friday afternoon. The event, organised amid much enthusiasm, drew large crowds from differentparts of the district. Four teams from Magura, Jhenaidah and Shailkupaparticipated in the competition, showcasing their skills in the traditionalstick-fighting, locally known as lathi khela. Thousands of spectators gathered to witness the spectacular displays of stickmaneuvers, performed in synchronization with the rhythmic beat of traditionaldrums.
