A video showing a man hanging by his feet from the upper hanger of former president Ziaur Rahman’s mausoleum in Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar has circulated widely on social media. Many Awami League supporters shared the clip, claiming one of their workers had been “killed and hanged". Police said the man had climbed the mausoleum intending to commit suicide. Bystanders rescued him, took him to hospital for treatment, and he later returned home.
