The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has started a case against Salman F Rahman, vice-chairman of Beximco Group and former advisor to Sheikh Hasina, his son Shayan Rahman, and 25 others over alleged embezzlement of Tk 5.68 billion. The case was lodged on Thursday night by Toufiqul Islam, senior assistant director of BTRC, at Gulshan Police Station. The accused are members of the International Gateway (IGW) Operators Forum. Gulshan Police chief Hafizur Rahman confirmed that 27 IGW operators, including Salman and his son, have been named in the case.
