Anti-Terrorism Unit arrests fugitive death row convict in Tejgaon | Others

DHAKA, Sept 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) arrested Sakib alias Babu, 23, a fugitive death row convict from Tejturi Bazar under Tejgaon Police Station in the capital. A press release issued by Barrister Mahfuzul Alam Russell, Superintendent of Police (Media and Awareness Wing) of ATU, confirmed the arrest. According to the release, Sakib had escaped from Kashimpur High-Security Prison over a year ago and had been evading law enforcement since. He was apprehended during a special operation conducted yesterday evening based on intelligence and a requisition from Konabari Police Station of Gazipur Metropolitan Police.
