ACC moves for Interpol red notice against ex-minister Jabed, wife | Others

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed a petition before a Chattogram court seeking an instruction to the Ministry of Home Affairs to request Interpol to issue a 'red notice' against former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed and his wife Rukmila Zaman. The petition was placed before the court of Acting Metropolitan Special Judge Md Abdur Rahman. The court fixed September 21 for hearing on the application, ACC Public Prosecutor Advocate Mukarram Hossain said. The ACC is probing a case against Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, his wife Rukmila Zaman (former chairman of UCBL) and 50 bank officials over allegations of embezzling about Tk 124 crore.
