The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami brough out a protest procession in Dhaka on Thursday, September 18, to press home their five-point demand, including holding the next national elections under PR (proportionate representation) method. With the participation of thousands of leaders and activists, the procession began from the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque around 5:30pm after a brief rally and ended at Shahbagh intersection. Jamaat's Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar led the procession organised by its Dhaka North and South City units, while Assistant Secretaries General Rafiqul Islam Khan and Hamidur Rahman Azad were present.
