Price fall in large-cap drives stocks down | Business

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Country's both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange(DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - today plunged due to mainly pricefall in large-cap securities.DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, lost 42.4 points to settle at 5,450 pointsas against 5,492 points in the previous trading session.Market turnover decreased to a 1-month low, falling by 11.2% to Taka 6.5billion from Taka 7.4 billion in the previous session.On the sectoral front, Pharma (14.8%) issues exerted the highest turnover,followed by Textile (12.9%) and Bank (12.9%) sectors.All the sectors displayed negative returns, out of which Paper (-3.3%), Jute(-3.0%) and Ceramic (-2.2%) exerted the most corrections on the bourse today.
