Price fall in large-cap drives stocks down | Business

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - Country's both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange(DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - today plunged due to mainly pricefall in large-cap securities. DSEX, the broad index of the DSE, fell by 17.3 points to settle at 5,492points as against 5,510 points in the previous trading session. However, market turnover increased by 9.4% to Taka 7.4 billion from Taka 6.7billion in the previous session. On the sectoral front, Textile (12.3%) issues exerted the highest turnover,followed by Pharma (11.5%) and Bank (10.1%) sectors. Sectors mostly displayed negative returns, out of which FinancialInstitutions (-1.3%), Bank (-1.3%) and Paper (-0.5%) exerted the mostcorrections on the bourse today, while Services (1.9%), Textile (1.2%) andLife Insurance (0.8%) exhibited...
