Female bank official jailed for five years in Ctg | Others

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - A special court here today sentenced a female bank official to five years in jail for embezzling money deposited by clients as utility bills amounting to Tk. 3.57 lakh. Mizanur Rahman, judge of Chattogram Divisional Special Judge Court, pronounced the verdict in absentia of the accused, imprisoning Tajkeratun Nesa, a junior cash officer of United Commercial Bank’s Halishahar branch in the city. Assistant Director of Chattogram Anti-Corruption Office Md Emran Hossain filed a case on November 27, 2022, accusing Tajkeratun Nesa of appropriating the money.
