Polytechnic institute and technical students have once again taken to the streets to press for seven demands, blocking traffic at the busy Sat Rasta intersection and nearby roads in Dhaka. Police said that around 11am on Wednesday, students of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute occupied the intersection and began their protest, bringing traffic to a standstill. “About a thousand students are occupying the road. We are speaking with them and trying to bring the situation under control,” said Deputy Commissioner Ibne Mizan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Tejgaon Division.
