BNP leader’s wife hacked to death in Tangail

The wife of a local BNP leader was hacked to death by assailants in Quizbari village of Mogra Union in Sadar upazila, Tangail, on Tuesday night. The deceased, Lily Akter, was the wife of SM Anisur Rahman Uttam, general secretary of the union unit of the party. According to local residents and BNP activists, Uttam owns a biscuit factory next to his house and usually goes there every evening after prayers. On Tuesday evening, Uttam was delayed, so Lily Akter went to the factory instead. At that time, masked assailants lying in wait attacked her with sharp weapons.
