In the midst of ongoing reforms by the interim government, the number of bank accounts holding balances of over a million taka has risen by nearly 6,000 over the past three months. According to Bangladesh Bank’s updated report on Monday, the number of such accounts reached 127,336 by the end of June, up from 121,362 in March. This marks an increase of 5,974 accounts. With the rise in the number of million-taka accounts, the total deposits in these accounts have also grown.
