Two get 14 years jail for carrying fake currency in Jhalakathi | District

JHALAKATHI, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - A court here sentenced two people to 14 years in prison each for carrying fake currency in Sadar upazila in 2024. The court also fined them Taka 10,000 each, in default, to suffer six months more in jail, said additional public prosecutor of the court Advocate Akkas Sikder. The convicts are Nupur Begum, 35, wife of Al Amin Howlader of Gouripur area under Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur district and Jasim Khalifa, 36, son of Wazed Khalifa, a resident of Ponabalia union in Sadar upazila.
