City Mayor Dr. Shahadat acquitted in three cases | District

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today acquitted city mayor and former city unit BNP president Dr. Shahadat Hossain in three cases filed against him during the previous Awami League government. Additional Metropolitan and Session Judge Abdur Raman passed the acquittal order, exempting the incumbent mayor from cases registered as Special Tribunal 525/20, 526/20, and 331/25. The court based its decision on recommendations from the law wing of the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs, which reviewed the merit and intent of the cases.
