Bangladesh on Tuesday, September 16, began exporting hilsa to India, with the government authorising 37 local companies to ship a total of 1,200 metric tonnes ahead of Durga Puja. The Ministry of Commerce issued the approval through an office order signed by Deputy Secretary SHM Magfurul Hasan Abbasi. According to the order, Arif Sea Foods received the largest allocation of 50 metric tonnes, while the remaining companies were permitted to export between 30 and 40 metric tonnes each.
