SIRAJGANJ, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - The traditional floating jute market at Natuarpara in Kazipur upazila has gained momentum this season, drawing large crowds of farmers, traders, and buyers to the banks of the Jamuna River. Unlike conventional markets on land, the Natuarpara haat is uniquely held on boats, forming rows across the river, turning the Jamuna into a vibrant commercial hub during the selling season. Local sources said the market assembles every Saturday and Wednesday, offering a cost-effective platform for both buyers and sellers. Farmers from nearby char areas bring their produce by boat, significantly reducing transportation costs compared to land-based vehicles.
