DHAKA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today called for strong political commitment and international collaboration in safeguarding the ozone layer. Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion marking World Ozone Day at the Department of Environment in the capital's Agargaon, she said the depletion of the ozone layer poses serious threats to human health, agricultural productivity and biodiversity. Referring to the success of global initiatives, Rizwana, also the adviser of the ministry of water resources, highlighted the role of the Montreal Protocol in curbing the use of harmful chemical substances.
