Man arrested for using fake currency in Rangpur  | District

RANGPUR, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested one Md Nazrul Islam, 42, a resident of the Sadar Police Station area in Lalmonirhat district, for using fake currency notes in the Dhap area of Rangpur city.Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Ataur Rahman confirmed this incident on Monday afternoon.The OC said that Nazrul Islam purchased medicine worth Taka 1,800 at New Nabiam Pharmacy in the city's Dhap area on September 13 at night.He gave two Taka 1,000 notes for payment.The pharmacy's in-charge Fazle Rabbi found that the two currency notes were fake and asked Nazrul Islam for real currency notes.Md Nazrul Islam failed to give the real money and kept talking incoherently.Later, the pharmacy's in-charge Rabbi informed...
