Mirza Fakhrul, 76 others acquitted from SPA case | Others

DHAKA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today acquitted 77 people, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a case filed with the capital's Shahbagh Police Station under the Special Powers Act (SPA). Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Judge Sabbir Faiz gave the acquittal order after accepting the final report submitted by the police. Apart from Fakhrul, other notable accused in the case are BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikro, BNP Vice Chairman late Abdullah Al Noman, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Habib Un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Saiful Alam Nirab and...
