Police have used batons, water cannons and sound grenades to disperse non-government primary school teachers as they marched towards Jamuna, the official residence of the chief advisor, to press for the nationalisation of their schools. The demonstrators set out for Jamuna from the Jatiya Press Club around 4pm on Monday. When they reached near the Kodom Fountain intersection adjacent to the High Court, police blocked their way. As the teachers began protesting there, law enforcers charged batons to disperse them.
