PATUAKHALI- Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) – In a joint operation, 12 fishermen were detained yesterday (Sunday) afternoon in Mahipur coastal area in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district with illegal artisanal trawling boats and behundi nets. “On a tip-off, the Coast Guard and the Department of Fisheries conducted the drive jointly and detained 12 fishermen from Kuakata estuary along the Bay of Bengal,” said a press release today signed by Coast Guard media officer, Lieutenant Commander Siam Ul Haque .During the drive, 2 artisanal boats...
