The Anti-Tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA) and PROGGA: Knowledge for Progress have sought the support of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to expedite the amendment of the tobacco control law. The call was made during a meeting with Md Abdur Rahman Khan, chairman of the NBR, at the NBR headquarters on Sunday. The delegates from ATMA and PROGGA emphasised that tobacco use claims at least 442 lives daily in Bangladesh, urging the NBR to act swiftly to amend the existing law to reduce this devastating toll.
