Child among 2 dead as car rams parked covered van in Chattogram

Two people, including a 3-year-old girl, have been killed after a car ploughed into a parked covered van in Chattogram. The accident occurred on Friday morning on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in the Thakur Daghi area of Mirsharai Upazila, police said. The victims have been identified as Golam Sarwar Mintu, 42, and his daughter Muskan. They were residents of Dhaka’s Uttara. Inspector Borhan Uddin of the Jorarganj Highway Police Outpost, said that Sarwar was taking his family from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar for a holiday when the car carrying them crashed into the back of a parked covered van on the road near Thakur Dighi Bazar.
