Ballot counting begins at JUCSU amid boycotts, allegations of bias

Polling in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union and hall councils elections has closed amid boycotts by five panels and several independent candidates, who cited distrust in the election commission and alleged irregularities. Polling began at 9am across 21 halls for roughly 12,000 students and proceeded largely without incident until 5pm, although extended lines in several halls pushed voting past the scheduled closing time.
