Four left-leaning and progressive student panels have rejected the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and hall union elections, citing irregularities. They have demanded a fresh election through a fair and acceptable process. The announcement was made on behalf of the four panels on Thursday evening at the university’s transport yard by Shoron Ehsan, general secretary candidate from the Sampriti Oikya panel backed by a faction of the Bangladesh Students’ Union.
