EU lauds Bangladesh's progress in migration cooperation | News

DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - The European Union (EU) has lauded the progress made in its cooperation with Bangladesh on migration management andreaffirmed its commitment to support Dhaka in ensuring safe, dignified andregular migration while preventing irregular departures. A high-level EU delegation visited Dhaka this week, comprising officials fromthe European Commission, the EU border control agency Frontex andrepresentatives of member states.The discussions covered a broad spectrum of issues including returns andreintegration, legal migration pathways, border control, visa issuance, aswell as anti-trafficking and anti-smuggling measures, EU mission in Dhakasaid here today. The EU delegation acknowledged "good progress" in joint efforts undertakenwith Bangladesh in recent years.
