JCD boycotts JUCSU polls alleging irregularities

The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has boycotted the elections to the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and hall unions alleging irregularities. JCD-backed panel's general secretary (GS) candidate Tanzila Hossain Baishakhi announced this in a press conference on Thursday afternoon, September 11. Alleging that JCD VP (vice president) candidate has been barred from entering Tajuddin Hall, Tanzila said vote counting machines (OMR) have been brought from a company owned by Jamaat leader. "So, this is a staged election," she said, adding that the balloting was suspended at Tajuddin Hall for around two hours as there was no photos in voter list.
