ICT to frame charge Tuesday over police firing on hanging student case at Rampura | Others

DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) today fixed Tuesday for delivering a verdict on charge framing in a case of crimes against humanity filed over police firing on a student hanging from the cornice of a building at Rampura in the capital on July 19, 2024. The three-member ICT-1 panel led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order as Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam demanded a date for framing charges in the case. Meanwhile, the state-appointed lawyers of the fugitive accused Advocate Md Amir Hossain and Advocate Sarwar Jahan Nippon, on behalf of the detained accused Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police Chanchal Chandra Sarker, demanded acquittal of their client from the charges.
