Fugitive life-term convict fled from jail during July Uprising held in city | Others

DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - A life sentence awarded fugitive convict in a gang rape case, who escaped from Kashimpur Jail during July Uprising, has been arrested from the capital's Bhatara area. The arrestee has been identified as Saikat Mia (22), a fugitive convict serving a life sentence in a case of gang rape of a 13-year-old minor girl. A squad of RAB-1 arrested Saikat in front of the 1st passenger shelter of Expressway under DMP Dhaka Bhatara Police Station around 12am today, said a RAB press release.
