Voting begins in JUCSU polls

The long-awaited elections to the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and hall unions began on schedule at 9 am today.Voting will continue without interruption from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at 21 centres, comprising 224 booths in 11 male and 10 female residential halls.Students were seen gathering in front of the centres well before the official opening hour, while returning officers sealed ballot boxes in the presence of polling agents and media representatives to ensure transparency.For the first time in JUCSU history, Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology-based ballots are being used in the elections.Many first-time voters expressed excitement over participating in a democratic process after a 33-year hiatus.Nusrat Jahan, a first-time voter, said after casting her vote, "It feels...
