Voting has begun at Jahangirnagar University as ballots are cast to pick a new leadership for the central students’ union after 33 years. The Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) polls kicked off in 21 poll centres in different halls and academic buildings at 9am on Thursday. As many as 12,000 students will be able to cast their ballots until 5pm. Student council elections, held after the July Uprising and before the general election, are receiving particular scrutiny this time.
