Bangladesh ready sending peacekeepers to buffer zone if UN calls

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain said on Wednesday that Bangladesh stands ready to contribute peacekeeping forces to a proposed buffer zone in conflict-hit regions including Russia-Ukraine, provided the United Nations formally proposes such a mission. Speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Touhid emphasised that the decision ultimately rests with the UN, but expressed hope for a swift ceasefire and a return to stability.
