Good governance enhances citizens’ engagement in state affairs: Dr. Iftekharuzzaman | Others

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) – Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), today stressed the importance of establishing democratic practices in all government institutions to ensure good governance. He said good governance encourages citizens to actively participate in state affairs and government functions. Lack of good governance can lead to the marginalization of disadvantaged groups and an increase in corruption, he added.Dr. Iftekharuzzaman made these observations as the chief discussant at a workshop titled “TEXE Development Goals and Institutional Good Governance”, organized by the Sachaton Nagorik Committee (SANAC)-TIB in association with the Divisional Administration, Chattogram.
