Two suspected muggers lynched within hours in Dhaka's Mohammadpur

Two men accused of mugging have been beaten to death in separate incidents that took place within four hours of each other in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur. The attacks happened around 3:30am and 7:30am on Wednesday near the Nabinagar Bridge, within a short distance of each other, according to police. The dead men were identified by single names as Sujon, 21, and Hanif. The lynchings occurred within days of another similar incident, when another suspected mugger, identified as 23-year-old Md Yamin, had been beaten to death on the bank of the Buriganga River near Mohammadpur’s Chandrima Model Town. Another person was injured in that incident. Mohammadpur Police Station chief Kazi Rafiq said Sujon was killed around 3:30am, while Hanif died around 7:30am....
