Bangladesh, Guatemala pledge to deepen bilateral ties | News

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh and Guatemala have pledged to explore new avenues of cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations in trade, investment, and multilateral engagement. The vows were made when Bangladesh's Ambassador to Mexico with concurrent accreditation to Guatemala Mushfiqur Fazal Ansari presented his credentials to Guatemala's Vice Foreign Minister Monica Bolanos Perez on Tuesday, according to a message received here today. At a subsequent meeting, both sides underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation. Vice Foreign Minister Perez lauded Bangladesh's significant contributions to United Nations peacekeeping operations, while Ambassador Mushfiq proposed that a Guatemalan business delegation visit Dhaka to explore opportunities in Bangladesh's competitive sectors such as ready-made garments, pharmaceuticals, leather and jute products.
