EC working to implement voting rights of expatriate Bangladeshis: EC Secy | News

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS) – Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Md Akhtar Ahmed today said that the expatriate Bangladeshis will also be able to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. "EC is making all-out efforts to ensure it," he told journalists at a briefing held in front of his office at the Election Building in capital's Agargaon area. The EC Secretary said they are building platforms to facilitate overseas voting activities. EC is working sincerely to bring those expatriates, who have NIDs, under registration system, he said, adding that EC will also introduce the in-country postal ballot system for voters engaged in election-related work or in legal custody within the country.
